L. Nick Davis ‘84, currently serves as President, CEO, CMO and majority shareholder of Momma G’s, Inc., the franchisor of Momma Goldberg’s Delis. He also serves as President, CEO and sole shareholder of The Davis Companies.
Graduating from Auburn University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics, Davis took that educational foundation and applied it to business. Upon graduation, he joined Taco Bell Corporation as a manager trainee serving for seven years in positions of increasing responsibility including operational and financial turnarounds of critical markets in the southeast. In 1991, Davis joined WenSouth Corporation, a 46 restaurant Wendy’s franchisee, as a Regional Director.
In 1997, Davis formed Progressive Restaurants, Inc., PRI-Miami, LLC, PRIC, LLC. These companies purchased 14 Taco Bell restaurants in north central Florida and grew to 32 restaurants throughout the state of Florida until the sale of the restaurant business in 2010 – the companies retained the real estate.
Davis formed Vision Restaurants, Inc. in 2006 purchasing a single Taco Bell in Thomasville, Georgia. He gifted 49% of the company to key employees and grew this business to six restaurants that were sold in December 2024.
Davis became involved in Momma Goldberg’s Delis in 2006 investing in the brand as it started franchising, and in 2009, he purchased the local restaurants eventually becoming a franchisee before purchasing majority ownership of in December 2014.
Davis has given extensively of his time and talents to Auburn; he has served as President of the Tallahassee Auburn Club and has served on the National Auburn University Alumni Association Board of Directors. He is a member of Auburn University Athletics’ Tigers Unlimited at the Oaks Society Level and a longtime Executive Suite Holder in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Davis also served on the Auburn University Harbert College of Business Dean’s Executive Advisory Committee after serving a three-year term on the Advisory Board, which he is currently an emeritus member. He also served on the college’s capital campaign committee for the Because This is Auburn Capital Campaign. In addition, Davis was recognized as one of the top forty graduates by the Auburn University Harbert College of Business on the 40th anniversary of the college.
Davis is the past Chair of the Gogue Performing Arts Center Engagement Council after serving as a member on the inaugural Development Council. He currently serves as the Chair of the Dean’s Advisory Council for the College of Human Sciences, and as Chair of the Auburn University EAGLES Program Engagement Council.
Davis stepped up to serve Auburn in the Name, Likeness & Image (NIL) arena serving as a founding member of On To Victory – the NIL collective for Auburn.
