Winderlea

Winderlea Vineyard and Winery is a boutique winery specializing in the limited production of Pinot noir, Chardonnay and Sparkling wine. Winderlea was founded by Bill Sweat and Donna Morris in 2006 with the purchase of the original Dundee Hills Vineyard. The earliest plantings on Winderlea's 20 acre estate date back to 1974. Always farmed gently, Bill and Donna's introduced organic farming in 2008 and began employing biodynamic practices in 2009 earning Demeter Biodynamic® certification in 2015. In addition to the Winderlea vineyard, Winderlea farms another 25 acres, the Worden Hill Vineyard, in the Dundee Hills. Sustainability extends beyond farming practices, at Winderlea, where they achieved BCorp certification in 2015 becoming just the 4th winery globally to commit to “Making Business a Force for Good.”

Why the Willamette Valley of Oregon? In the early 90s Bill and Donna fell in love with Pinot noir. Its elegance and sensuality and the beautiful way it paired with a range of foods delighted them. Tasting through Pinot noirs from the “new world” they found the characteristics they most loved in Oregon Pinot noir. Oregon’s unique climate and soils, paired with the heritage of artisanal craftsmanship and an obsession with making small lots of the highest quality are the foundation for Winderlea wines.
