Originally from Daphne, Alabama, I enrolled at Auburn University to pursue a degree in Accounting. My passion for helping people, along with extracurricular activities, drew me to the university’s Hospitality Management program. During the summer of 2016, I gained experience at the Grand Hotel Marriott Resort’s poolside restaurant, which confirmed my desire to continue a career in hospitality. I returned to the Grand Hotel this past summer, now part of the Autograph Collection, to complete my internship as a Front Office Agent.
Currently, I work at The Depot, a fine dining seafood restaurant in Auburn, both as a server and server’s assistant. Holding both positions has allowed me to experience different aspects in the restaurant and has helped inform my management style of leading by example and assisting in whatever capacity is needed. The Depot has an extensive reserve wine list, and the assistant manager holds wine class every other week. These classes sparked my interest in the world of wine and inspired me to apply for both Auburn’s study trip to Trinchero Family Estates and the Epicurean Tour of Northern California. I am eager to continue my studies through completion of the Certified Specialist of Wine exam. I hope to continue a career in the fine dining side of Food and Beverage, and I am extremely excited to meet the chefs, winemakers, and honoree.
