Catherine Wayman is the Creative Director and Managing Partner of C. Wayman Floral & Events, LLC. Based in both Atlanta and Auburn; Catherine specializes in creating unique floral designs and beautifully curated events.
As a graduate of HRMT in 2007, Catherine's educational and vocational experiences have given her a variety of valuable experiences in the hospitality industry, including hotel management, wedding and special event planning, and floral and interior design. She officially joined her mother's floral business in Auburn in 2015. At that time, her mother, Cathy, was working as a floral vendor for the office of the President, providing flowers for all of the special events that Dr. and Mrs. Gogue hosted at Auburn University. Catherine excelled in this position and curated a distinct style of floral design. She gives credit to Jon Thompson, Director of Special Events, who has mentored her through this process.
In 2019, Catherine expanded the scope of her company to include production and set design for the music, commercial, and film industry. This division is known as C. Wayman Design & Production. She has worked for celebrities such as Cynthia Erivo, Regina Hall, and Michelle Williams; and many artists including Missy Elliott, Cardi B, and Lizzo. She has designed sets for eBay and Under Armour commercials and has had articles featuring her work published in People, Southern Living, and Vogue. In addition, she has worked with large corporations such as Home Depot, Netflix, the Atlanta Falcons, and Porsche.
Catherine's career path continues to be ever-changing as she navigates the unexpected industry trends and evolving demands in floral and events. She is humbled and grateful to have the career of her dreams and the honor of receiving this special award from the college where it all began, Auburn University.
